Space to Be
Where do we fit in. Where is our space to Be.
While living in an intentional community here on the Isle of Mull we are learning. This is a transitional time and at this time it seems to be of the utmost importance to have a space.
What does that really mean!! While observing a nest built by a thrush. She sat in her space watching us come and go, she patiently nested on top of 6 eggs for three weeks. This coincided with the time that I arrived back on the croft. She neatly built her nest by gathering twigs, bits of string and molded it all together. It seemed so perfect.
I on the other hand had a space ( a bedroom) in the croft house with five other people, a family of four with two young children (2 and 5). They are also transitioning into communal living. The mornings were early and full of life.
Much like the nest when the eggs were hatched. It seemed quite crowded in that little nest.

I figured it would all work out if I could find my place within it all. But struggling to find my SPACE became all encompassing. I would go to sit on a rock in the vastness of so much space, but where was I in this. I couldn’t find myself. I would look out to sea but I needed to find a place to feel secure.
I moved from place to place searching. I need a place to feel anchored. I am usually very good at grounding myself in the land and in a place.
