As I look around the last couple of weeks, the surrounding hills have turned into a hue of purple.
It is so quiet here and all that can be heard is the buzz of the bees. They are collecting the free giving pollen. As I walk along the moors and look really close I see a microcosm of so much. Each individual heather plant looks like a large tree. The smells are so lovely. The heather sits in front of the sparkling pink granite. Intermixed with the heather is Bog Myrtle and beneath the lichen that embraces the granite.

Heather (Calluna vulgaris)
Gaelic: fraoch
Heather is antiarthritic and diuretic. A cup of heather tea was drunk to soothe the nerves and to induce refreshing sleep.
